The Dakar Institute Summer Program is an interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate program designed and directed by a core group of faculty members and curriculum professionals affiliated with U.S., European, and Senegalese universities. Our program is developed to provide course-equivalent classes that fulfill curriculum requirements, as well as advanced credits at the home institutions of our study abroad students. One of the highlights The Dakar Institute Summer Program is the mutual participation of local students and those coming from abroad. This is intended to create a community between students from Senegal and those from the U.S. and Europe, which will enable peers from abroad and from Senegal to learn the particularities of their respective cultures and to develop inter-cultural dialogue and understanding. The program includes field trips and courses that are designed in a way to encourage the most diversity in classes, so that Senegalese students and those coming from abroad have the opportunity to share their experiences and learn from each other.
